Jeffery Kingore
A BRIEF BIOGRAPHY
Jeffery Kingore was born in Dallas, Texas, the middle son of Richard and Bertie Kingore. According to Dr. Kingore, he was born an insomniac, “You were always precious and quiet; you just never slept.” Before age two, his family of five moved to Abilene, Texas where he attended preschool at St. Paul’s Methodist Church, kindergarten at Pioneer Drive Baptist Church, and first grade at St. John’s Episcopal School before attending Abilene ISD. As a Freshman in 1991 at age 14, Mr. Kingore competed at the International Science and Engineering Fair. He graduated at the top of his class with four letters on his sports and fine arts school jacket.

For two years during high school, Jeffery Kingore was the Assistant Director for Dr. Bertie Kingore’s Threshold Summer Program for Gifted Students at Hardin-Simmons University. He was also the teacher of one of the upper-level courses alongside Dr. Kingore’s graduate students who were taking their own Summer courses through the program. Jeffery designed Threshold’s marketing materials and students’ memorabilia as well.
Beginning in the Fall of 1995, Mr. Kingore attended HSU for three semesters before transferring to the University of North Texas in Denton for their graphic design program to assist P. A. Publishing. His BFA became an art minor after he had honed the skills necessary to be a professional designer.

In 1998 at UNT, Jeffery Kingore became a Psychology major, English major, and premed student–his early childhood dream was to be a “brain doctor” (psychiatrist or neurosurgeon). Designing and editing eleven publications for P. A. Publishing during college paid for his studies. Taking heavy course loads each semester at both universities as well as having earned college hours through advanced placement and gifted classes in grade school, he was at one point a 19-year-old Senior with an accumulative 4.0 gpa.
In the Fall of 2000 after graduating from UNT, Bertie and Richard Kingore convinced Jeffery Kingore to move to Austin, Texas with them to continue growing P. A. Publishing. (Jeffery believed this would be a temporary hiatus before attending medical school, earning the funds to begin his advanced studies.) During the work day, he ran the company without any other employees for a decade.
At home and on his personal time, Jeffery designed and edited all of the physical and digital publications by P. A. Publishing. He also performed freelance work for other international consultants and local companies for the first few years, including logos, photography, and website design/management.

After convincing his parents, Jeffery Kingore was allowed to create P. A. Publishing’s online store, though Richard insisted upon the URL www.professionalassociatespublishing.com. Dr. Bertie Kingore observed the importance of online marketing and asked Jeffery to create her consulting website (www.bertiekingore.com)* which he designed and managed for free, including her handouts. He was also informally Bertie’s assistant, managing her emails and phone calls during her extensive consulting as well as creating her presentation slides.

*When Dr. Bertie Kingore retired her involvement with P. A. Publishing in 2015, she mandated Jeffery Kingore to take down her website.
Self-proclaimed the Three Musketeers, Jeffery and Richard exhibited at conferences together where Bertie presented, driving coast to coast with the booth displays and materials, transforming their father-son relationship into a friendship. The two of them also renovated and maintained Richard’s rental properties while Bertie consulted frequently. Jeffery and Bertie’s relationship also matured as they created the materials, often working together across Bertie’s desk and having profound conversations.
From January of 2000 through December of 2010, Jeffery Kingore operated P. A. Publishing’s offices while Richard supervised and handled the finances. For the dozens of conferences at which they exhibited annually, Jeffery wrote, designed, and manufactured the catalogs as well as prepared the inventory. When it was unavoidable with conferences in quick succession, Richard assisted in the preparation but primarily enjoyed setting up the storefront of the conference booths and interacting with participants.
During the daily performances in P. A. Publishing’s offices located in Bertie and Richard Kingore’s estate in Austin, Jeffery Kingore:
- Edited and designed Bertie’s manuscripts,
- Orchestrated the logistics of publishing,
- Processed each order with shipping,
- Managing their two websites, and
- Performed customer services, including phone calls and emails.
When Jeffery, Bertie, and Richard took their annual international vacations, they each paid their third portions and shared a room as they did at every conference with Jeffery on a rollaway. Jeffery also cared for his parents through their various medical obstacles from 2000 to 2019.
On January 1, 2010 after being the primary caretaker for Richard Kingore during his stage three cancer and chemotherapy, Jeffery Kingore purchased P. A. Publishing (primarily all of the copyrights) for $200,000. Everyone being uncertain of Richard’s continuing involvement with P. A. Publishing, Jeffery chose to protect his own investments and decades of time from his older and younger brothers.

For a few years, Dr. Bertie Kingore with Richard continued to present and exhibit at conferences across the nation as Jeffery Kingore’s guests. He volunteered to pay for their travel, their own hotel rooms, and their food as Bertie was donating her time. He also provided Richard a company card in his name for incidentals. Later, Jeffery’s 40th birthday vacation in 2017 to Los Angeles, Santa Monica, and Catalina was the last excursion for the Three Musketeers and the gift to Jeffery from his parents, Afterwards, Bertie and Richard began inviting their other two sons and their wives when Bertie and Richard were not vacationing with colleagues.
Jeffery Kingore has an insatiable drive to produce and contribute, but he also relished the time he could find away from P. A. Publishing. Art and science museums, conversations at coffee shops, singing in choruses, unplanned urban explorations, and outdoor adventures were his escapes.
Jeffery prefers the mountains and has enjoyed Winter sports since childhood family vacations, primarily skiing. Also particularly intrigued by the oceans and marine life, he is a certified SCUBA diver. In the past, he assisted his dive master in teaching search and rescue certifications at Mansfield Dam which creates Lake Travis just outside Austin.

Mr Kingore has habitually pursued his writing and fine arts. Routinely demonstrated through his poetry and creative fiction, written composition is his natural self-expression. He continues to practice his classical art training, such as he enjoyed Figure Drawing at UNT. Art History I and II were his favorite courses.

In 2019, Jeffery Kingore was diagnosed with stage three cancer with a 4 by 7 centimeter tumor. After four months on chemo and open surgery, he had multiple procedures that created a tumultuous and painful recovery. Covid took the world during this time, significantly elongating and complicating his healing. As of December 2025, Jeffery has been in remission for six years.
In the Fall of 2022, Jeffery Kingore was summoned to Dallas, Texas for every other week to care for Richard and Bertie in their home, despite them moving to Dallas during that Summer to be near their youngest son and his family. After Bertie lost her sight and Richard began to succumb to his Parkinson’s disease and dementia, their need for home care became unavoidable. Therefore, in December of 2022, Jeffery locked his house in Austin and sheltered his company to live in their guest bedroom while he cared for them independently and continuously.
In January of 2024, Jeffery Kingore returned to Austin where he immediately bean to re-establish P. A. Publishing by again exhibiting at conferences, rebuilding https://kingore.com, joining the Small Business Association, and forming Kingore, LLC. Given a welcomed return by the National Association for Gifted Children (NAGC) and the Texas Association for the Gifted and Talented (TAGT), his strongest support was lovingly given by Ann Wink with International Baccalaureate (IB) who is also a past President of TAGT along with several other high-level positions.
During 2025, Mr. Kingore began consulting for state organizations and districts as well as writing independently for P. A. Publishing. Beginning with the third edition of Recognizing Gifted Potential (RGP) and the fourth edition of the Kingore Observation Inventory (KOI), he considered these to be the most immediately important publications to release in January and November of 2026, respectively.
Jeffery Kingore is eager to author and publish many new titles in 2027 as well as new, differentiated, and expanded editions of the rainbow activity books that will now include customizable downloads with activities that students can also complete digitally. Mr. Kingore will also return to exhibiting and presenting at multiple state gifted conferences to further the education of all students as well as the identification and fostering of gifted and talented potentials and abilities.. The encouragement he has received and the continuing implementation of Dr. Bertie Kingore and his materials fuel his passion to support all learners for decades to come.
