10 NEW KOI Planned Experiences
NEW Evaluation System | Expanded and elaborated to foster in-depth understanding of giftedness in students’ products as well as promote professional analysis and team review
Now grades K – 8
KOI Planned Experiences are sets of scripted, high-level, open-ended, individually-completed, whole-class-administered, equitable learning opportunities designed specifically to elicit and diagnose gifted behaviors in different grade levels. They have proven particularly responsive to under-represented populations and enable more children of diversity and lower SES to demonstrate gifted potential.
Implemented internationally to identify and screen gifted students, the KOI Planned Experiences are correlated to the seven categories of the Kingore Observation Inventory (KOI):
- Accelerated Learning,
- Advanced Language,
- Analytical Thinking,
- Meaning Motivation,
- Perspective,
- Sense of Humor, and
- Sensitivity.
Ten new planned experiences expand the twenty-two activities nationally field tested and revised by hundreds of classroom teachers as part of the use of learning experiences to enrich all children and identify gifted potential.
Each KOI Planned Experience is designed to be developmentally appropriate to a specific grade level and integrate seamlessly with daily instruction. They incorporate provided forms and materials for the administration process and evaluation. All of the KOI Planned Experiences promote creative, open-ended, high-level thinking, and several are based on children’s literature with multiple applications.
MORE ACCESSIBLE!
This third edition no longer includes a site license nor a copy of Kingore Observation Inventory, 3rd ed. The needed KOI background information is now integrated into this publication. It is also now a hardback book instead of a binder.
These changes as well as a need to make it more accessible justify the drastically reduced price despite the new, updated, and expanded materials.
